David Bowie- Vampires of Human Flesh: Scary Monsters Demos (1980)- CD Rip (FLAC)

So much Bowie and such little time...

Here's another excellent Bowie bootleg of demos that chronicle the progression of tracks from Scary Monsters. Keep in mind that this album has the sickest lineup an artist could ever want: Dennis Davis, George Murray, Carlos Alomar, Adrian Belew...and even Roy Bittan on keyboards. I want to say the "F" word right about now, but I won't. All I'm saying is that it's one fucking sick lineup. Enjoy!

From the liner notes:

"Scary Monsters and Super Creeps" was recorded in two sessions at the Power Station N.Y.C. in less than six weeks and was produced by Tony Visconti. All tracks were already in David's mind, only the lyrics were changed at the last moment. 'Fashion' was originally called 'Jamaica', 'It's No Game' us derived from 'Tired of My Life', a song written when he was sixteen years of age! 'Ashes to Ashes' was 'People Are Turning to Gold', 'Teenage Wildlife' used to be 'It Happens Every Day'.

'Up the Hill Backwards' was originally entitled 'Cameras In Brooklyn', 'Scream Like a Baby' was 'Laser', a song written at the time he was working with the 'Astronettes'.

Another track recorded during these sessions was The Cream's 'I Feel Free'. This track was often performed in the early 70ties, recorded for this album, but ultimately dropped (this unreleased version remains unheard, when Ryko released all David's albums on CD, this track was promised for release again, but dropped at the last minute for obvious reasons. David recorded a new version for the 'Black Tie White Noise' album). 'Fuje San Moto' became 'Crystal Japan', an instrumental track used for a Japanese commercial. Finally there's: 'Is There Life After Marriage', yet another instrumental track you can hear on this CD for the first time ever!
