Ajay, did you receive 3 years of H1 extension? I am in my 5th year of initial H1B. wondering if I will receive 3 years extension when I file for H1B transfer with an approved 140. I am changing jobs using AC21 to join a new employer.
Let me know your exp. Did you also get new I-94 attached with H1B ext approval notice?
You will get 3 years H1B extension since ur 140 is already approved.
I94 will come with the I797A approval.

Update for anyone who would find this useful -
I sent my app using USPS express mail (next day delivery) with online tracking/delivery confirmation. No issues with delivery to PO BOX.

I am myself also planning to use my AP for re-entry later this year, but have the H1-B approval valid till 2011, so was a little confused as to if I would be needed to renew my new I-94 if it is issued for 1 year based on AP..

I got the paperwork from my attorney for my wife's 485 as they want us to be ready so that if dates are current, we just mail the paperwork without having to start at that time.
However, my wife is pregnant and i am not sure if medical examinations are possible. What are my options ?
Complete medicals without the vaccines, etc which cannot be taken during pregnancy. The Civil surgeon shoould make a note on the medical report that the applicant is pregnant and so medical is incomplete.
When your 485 is picked up for processing, an RFE will be issued and then she can complete the rest.

I have added your treasure trove and "old school web design" stamps :) I think the text in some of the other stamps needs some work. More specifically, I'm seeing a lot of words. The good stamps I've seen use more visual imagery as opposed to text to convey information very quickly.

this is a Q for my Friend
He was working at Lehman before the company filed for chapter 11
... He has been told that salary will be paid for 3 months
Right now he is at home and looking for other offers and no H1b transfer has been started
Question is ... Is he OK ( in status ) currently or a H1b transfer has to be done ASAP

If this is severance pay, then he is NOT OK as he has been laid-off. He needs to get H1B transfer done ASAP. On the other hand, if he is going to be paid as per the usual pay cycle (e.g. - if regular pay roll cycle is weekly, bi-weekly or monthly and you friends gets paid as per the same cycle) over the next 3 months, then technically he is still employed and he is OK till he gets the last pay check.

What are you saying he has no valid visa on his passportm his papers are valid. People who have a valid I-94 and like H1B - Valid i-797 can legally work in US without a valid visa on the passport.

Without a job offer from a national lab, it makes it hard to say why I want to skip the labor certification. Companies that need work of national interest now first ask for a green card before they give a job offer in a chicken and egg game. That I am nearing the end of 6-ye H1B may not be good enough reason to bypass labor. The most reasonable argument I can think of is that my stopping work will harm US national interests and no one else can do that work because I am special. What do you think?

Yes. Its up to the VO to grant the period of stay. You could enter US even with one day left on the visa. Once you are on US soil, its I-94 that determines the duration of your stay (which has expiry date).
IMHO, that's a big risk as you will never know if the IO just gives for a month, 2 months or 6 months.
There is the risk of getting stuck in security processing if you apply for another visa as shared by another member.
For your friend's case s/he needs to weigh these risks and see which one s/he can take.
